Classes

Fitness, Pilates, wellness.

I love the Pilates method and how it brings about balance and alignment to the whole body and mind.

I vary the classes by using small pieces of equipment, such as light weights to help build strength, muscle tone and also help improve bone density.  Training with weights is a great compliment to any other fitness you take part in.  You dont always need loads of weights to take part, just a pair of dumbbells to start with is ideal.  We also use resistance bands and a mini ball.

Its not all with equipment, sometimes we train just on the mat using your own bodyweight.

If you dont have any equipment to start with, its no problem as you can still do the movements the same, you can always pick up the pieces of equipment as you go along, and fairly cheaply too.

Move well in the World of Health & Fitness

The classes here below compliment each other very well.  However, you can also just choose one or two elements to fit in alongside your current programme.

Pilates with Small Equipment

In these classes, we use various pieces of small equipment such as a resistance band, weights & mini soft balls, to add challenge and variety to our mat workouts. The classes are held in my Online VIP Facebook group.

Pilates Matwork (Community Classes)

A no equipment class, mostly on the floor where we aim to improve strength, alignment and flexibility using the pilates method. These are community held classes in Westcliff, Leigh and Hockley, you can book online or just turn up on the day. All you need is a Pilates mat for the floor and if you have a resistance band please bring that with you too.

VIP Facebook Group (Online)

My online facebook group, was started a couple of years back, and has been a popular addition to the timetable so I have continued to run it ever since. Its run quarterly so you pay £45 for three months access to the group, which has a new 'live' class every week, plus you have access to all the previous classes since the group began. Please note that you only gain accesss for the time you have paid for the group, you don't get to keep the classes once the three months expires, unless you continue for the next three months, so its a bit like a subscription. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

FAQ

Do I need to book?

You have a choice to book classes online via my website, or you can just turn up on the day and pay as you go, but please bring cash as I do not have a card reader.

What is the age group?

This is suitable for any age group as modifications are provided throughout.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. You have a choice to wear trainers or go barefoot.

Do I need any equipment ?

For some of the classes you only need your mat.  We also use resistance bands, mini soft balls and hand and ankle weights, but these are optional.  If you dont have any equipment I suggest you start with resistance bands and a mini soft ball, such as a bender ball.  These can all be purchased cheaply online or local shops.

What if I haven't done Pilates before?

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t done Pilates before.  I will talk you through the movements and offer modifications.  Pilates is a practice that takes a bit of time to learn, be patient with yourself and consistent with your workouts and it will all come together.

What if I have an injury

If you have an injury, then I suggest you wait until your injury has healed before you start.  Please check with your doctor/consultant if you are unsure.

If you are coming back from an injury then I would recommend you start with Pilates to increase your core strength and overall body alignment, and then you can move on from there.
